Celtics' Big Man Situation

@SouthSideSN

What do the Celtics need to do now to get by Cleveland and the new look Raptors?

Well as you all know, the Celtics failed to do anything at the trade deadline and decided to keep their current team together. Although it may have angered fans, it may have been the best move possible. The Pacers asking price for Paul George was too high as they wanted a Brooklyn pick and a combination of 3 out of the 4 of Jae Crowder, Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, and Avery Bradley. Although Paul George is a superstar, no one knows how long he would be with the team.

Another hole they failed to fill at the deadline was rebounding. BUT that problem may be able to be fixed without trading any of the assets. After the deadline, Terrence Jones was cut by the Pelicans and Jared Sullinger was cut by the Suns as he was recently traded there from Toronto in a trade for PJ Tucker. Could they be a solution to the rebounding problem?

As many may remember Jared Sullinger is a former Celtic and averaged 11.1 PPG and 7.7 TRB over four seasons. Bringing him back could be a band aid solution for the rebounding problem for the rest of the season. On the other hand, Terrence Jones is only 25 and has quietly had a good career. He’s averaging 10.6 PPG and 5.8 TRB in his career. Either or of these players could slide into the starting PF position for the Celtics and make an impact with rebounding.

Another potential big man the Celtics could bring in is Andrew Bogut, the big man has recently been bought out by the 76ers after being traded from Dallas in a trade for Nerlens Noel. The only problem I see with the Celtics signing him is that Cleveland is interested too. With Cleveland being the more dominant team, in my opinion all arrows point to him going to Cleveland to get the best chance of winning a ring this season.

I believe the Celtics should most definitely try to sign Jared Sullinger, Terrence Jones, or even both, to help the them get over their rebounding problems that often is the reason they lose games.
