Floyd Mayweather Calls out Conor McGregor
Floyd Mayweather is back at it again. The undefeated boxer called it quits in September of 2015 and since then everyone has been asking, will we see him take on UFC superstar Conor McGregor? I’d love to see two of the cockiest athletes the world has ever seen knocking a little bit of confidence out of each other with each punch.
The two have gone back and forth talking trash through the media for months now. Most recently, Floyd who stuttered “If Conor McGregor really wants this fight to happen, sign the paper”. Big words from a man who has been accused of dodging fights his whole career. Also big words from a man that reads at a 3th grade level. I mean “McGregor”? That’s some 4th grade stuff right there. Anyways, the fight seems like a long shot however if Mayweather is as serious about it as his big mouth implies then we could see it happen soon.
I’m sure the fight would be a great one. Not only is Conor an absolute psychopath but he is a damn good fighter as well. He sits at 21-3 in his career and is easily one of the most electrifying fighters we’ve ever seen. Forget about Arian Foster taking a wolf 1 on 1, McGregor would take them both on at once. Oh and we can’t forget, Floyd is absolutely no scrub. He retired at a perfect 49-0 in his career. Both have completely different fighting styles but they do have a few things in common: they’re very much hated, their egos are larger than their net worths and they’ve both been doing a lot of talking about beating each other's asses and not enough actually doing so. It would be tough to root for either of them. Could they both lose? Maybe a simultaneous knockout blow landed by both? I guess we’ve seen weirder things in sports. I mean just a month ago people thought Matt Ryan could win a Super Bowl.
Seriously though I would love for this fight to happen. I don’t think it would disappoint. It appears as though it’s still very far away. We do not know any of the details and one could guess neither fighter is actually as interested as they seem when the cameras are rolling. Knowing Floyd this is all just another way to bring in a couple million dollars to blow on something stupid. However, I do not think one arena could hold so much ignorance at once so they’re definitely going to have to figure out how to get that worked out. Hopefully this fight happens sooner rather than later and is exactly what we expect.
